Thank you for everyone who participated in this event! This picture is just a few of the MANY people involved from the planning, to the building, and execution of hanging the nesting boxes— Eagle Mountain, Utah - City Hall, Wildlife Biologist Todd Black, who spearheaded the project. 🚵‍♀️🏍️🏃‍♂️🏇ATTENTION ALL TRAIL USERS: PLEASE READ and PROVIDE FEEDBACK TO PROTECT YOUR FAVORITE TRAILS.

🚵‍♀️. Eagle Mountain, Utah - City Hall is working on a master trail plan, and they need the public’s input on the trails found within the City. Your feedback can help determine what trails are kept and which ones aren’t as the City continues to grow!

🏃‍♂️Attached is a trail database of all the trails currently found within EM City- even trails that private or government landowners HAVEN’T approved. The City’s objective is to collaborate with landowners to the best of their ability to safeguard the trails the public finds most desirable, as they did in preserving the Creed Trail.

🏇The map is interactive. Click on a trail, and a box will open with detailed information about that trail, such as trail type, level of difficulty, if there is landowner conflict with the trail, etc.

🥾To provide feedback:

1. Please download the attached spreadsheet.

2. On the map, find the trail you want to leave feedback on and click it. An information box will open. Annotate the trail’s name found in the “OBJECTID” field of the info box and write it down in column “B” (Trl_nme) on the spreadsheet.

3. Scroll to the right until you see column “AB” (Comments). Please leave your feedback here.

🏍️What type of feedback to include? Anything you think is important. For example, the public widely uses the trail, connectivity issues, and/or trails that can be eliminated for lack of use.

Happy National Bird Day! 🐦

Today, we're celebrating the beauty of birds! Their songs, colors, and behaviors are amazing to see and hear - but did you know they're also vital for the health of our ecosystems?

Birds pollinate plants 🌱, disperse seeds 🌼, control pests 🐀🦟, and provide food for other animals.

Unfortunately, they also face a lot of threats like habitat loss. That's why our team works hard to protect native habitats for birds and other wildlife in Eagle Mountain. ❤️

You can always help by donating, volunteering for our projects, or even just spreading the word about our work. Together, we can make a difference for our local wildlife. 🪶

New year, tagged Deer! 🥳 We had a wonderful da

New year, tagged Deer! 🥳

We had a wonderful day tagging 10 mule deer in Eagle Mountain with GPS collars as part of the @utahdwr Mule Deer Survival and Migration Study! 🦌

The sun was bright and we loved working so closely with these amazing animals!

These collars will help us:

- Preserve migration routes
- Assess wildlife crossings
- Estimate survival rates
- Understand how deer navigate our landscape

The safety and well-being of the deer are a top priority. Here’s how they're tagged:

- Helicopters are used to spot and capture them
- Hoods are applied to calm them down
- Body measurements and health samples are taken
- GPS collars are placed for tracking - Vitamins are administered for stress relief - The deer are released back into their habitat!

We couldn't do this without the generous contributions from our sponsors, who "adopted" these deer to support local conservation efforts. Thank you!

- Badgers
- Big or Little Brown Bats
- Western Meadowlarks
- Black-Tailed Jackrabbits

Join the annual Christmas Bird Count! 🐦 We're looking for people of all skill levels to help collect data about birds in our area between December 14th and January 5th.

🗓️ Our official day for the bird count is Friday, December 22nd. We'll start early with an adventure searching for owls from 5-7AM, then meet in the Macey’s Parking lot at 7:30AM to kick off the count!

To join, reach out to our city Wildlife Biologist, Todd Black, at tblack@emcity.org by December 10th. He'll help you get started with all the info you need—whether it's learning about birds, data collection, or if you want to join him in birding sessions!

Let's make this year's count a memorable one!
